Luis Saldaña

Luis Alberto Saldaña, born June 5, 1997, is a Mexican-American artist based in Arkansas.

Luis’s early life began on a small ranch near the city of Leon, Guanajuato where he spent his formative years in a humble setting without a father (his father had gone to the U.S. for work to better support the family). At the age of eleven, Luis’s family immigrated to the United States first living in San Diego with his maternal family. After a year in California, Luis and his family were finally able to move to Arkansas where, at the age of twelve, Luis met his father for the first time. It wasn’t until the 10th grade that Luis had the opportunity to take his first art classes. By the end of his junior year, Luis became one of a chosen few to attend the Arkansas Governor’s School (AGS) over the summer where he gained a fascination towards the arts. At AGS, he spent a majority of his time working with Jason McCann (an accomplished Arkansas artist and instructor).

Luis has participated in Thea Foundation Paves the Way, AYAA, and has exhibited in several exhibitions put together by the Latino Art Project.
