Over the past year, Jake has taken the reigns of a technique called ‘digital moshing’ to create art that straddles both the tail end of the millennial era as well as the fresh start of gen-Z. This process involves altering code of a digital photograph to create distortions and colorations unachievable by camera alone. Jake considers the process to be somewhere between mastery and complete guesswork. As such, the product perfectly encapsulates existential order amidst artistic chaos. Within the code of the digital photos, Jake can embed his stories and secrets, leaving serendipitous art which symbolizes the artistry of an accident. “Glitch” will showcase a collection of Jake’s pieces rendered using this digital moshing technique.
